The man stepped close. Too close. His voice dropped to the register of a threat dressed up as comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“You don’t belong here.” A pause. A beat of silence that felt like a fuse burning. “You belong to what we buried.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maya’s tray hit the floor. The champagne spread like something spilled from a wound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
