Just three objects sitting in the dark: a leather file stamped with a company crest, a faded photograph, and a silver pocket watch \u2014 still ticking, loud as a heartbeat in the silence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The boy picked up the photograph first. He turned it so the cameras could see. He looked up, voice steady as stone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “He said you’d hide them where only guilt could hear them tick.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Vane stumbled. “Security!” he screamed, but no one moved.
