Marcus watched every millimeter. Elena’s smile held \u2014 until it didn’t. Something moved through her. She felt it in her foot first, then her ankle, then rushing up through her legs like warm water filling empty spaces that had been hollow for eleven years. Her hand shot back and found Marcus’s hand without looking. He grabbed it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
